Request deletion of your Smart Tiffin account and the personal data we hold about you.

You can request deletion of your Smart Tiffin account at any time. This page explains how to do it, what data is removed, what we are legally required to retain, and how long the process takes. It applies to the Smart Tiffin mobile app (customer, kitchen partner, and delivery partner) and the web app.

Enter the phone number on your account. We'll send a verification code to confirm it's you.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Smart Tiffin app:

  • Open the Smart Tiffin app and sign in.
  • Go to Profile Delete account.
  • Confirm the deletion. Your account is immediately deactivated and you are signed out everywhere.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address or phone-linked contact on your account and we will process the deletion for you:

  • Send a request to privacy@smarttiffin.in with the subject line Account Deletion Request.
  • Include the registered phone number on your account so we can verify your identity.
  • We verify ownership (via an OTP to the registered number) before deleting, to protect against fraudulent requests.

What data is deleted

When your deletion request completes, we remove the personal data associated with your account, including:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address
  • Saved delivery addresses and location pins
  • Profile photo and preferences
  • Saved payment instruments and wallet details
  • Notification and device tokens

What we are required to retain

Some records must be kept to comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention laws, even after your account is deleted. These are retained only for the legally required period and are de-identified from your profile where possible:

  • Order and payment/invoice records (retained per applicable financial-records law)
  • Records needed to resolve disputes, chargebacks, or refunds in progress
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics that no longer identify you

Timeline & restore window

  • Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out everywhere.
  • There is a 30-day restore window — sign in again with the same phone number within 30 days to cancel the deletion.
  • After 30 days, your personal data is permanently removed, except for the records noted above.
  • Email-based requests are actioned within 7 business days of identity verification.
